Employers Holdings, Inc. is looking for a seasoned Senior Underwriter for Workers' Compensation to join our dedicated team. This role involves careful risk assessment and decision-making to optimally balance risk and reward. Our focus on small businesses in low to medium hazard industries across the United States requires a keen understanding of this particular market segment. As a Senior Underwriter, you will use your expertise to help protect our clients' most valuable assetstheir employeeswhile maintaining profitable and competitive insurance solutions that meet their unique needs. Assess and analyze underwriting information to establish risk exposure. Determine eligibility and develop pricing structures that are both competitive and profitable. Utilize underwriting guidelines and models to make decisions on policy issuance and alterations. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with agents and brokers to grow portfolio profitability. Engage in negotiation processes with potential and existing clients. Ensure compliance with both internal policies and regulatory requirements. Mentor junior underwriters and serve as a knowledge resource within the team. Strong analytical and quantitative skills Expertise in underwriting principles, practices, and procedures in the workers' compensation insurance sector Exceptional decision-making abilities and attention to detail Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment software Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) certification preferred ARM (Associate in Risk Management) or similar credential desirable
