University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. Serving North Texas and surrounding areas since 2005, we provide a wide range of services and programs that offer evidence-based treatment proven to have positive outcomes for our patients. Our inpatient and day hospital services offer supportive and compassionate care for adolescents and adults through specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients. UBH of Denton is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Receptionist. Position Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors, answering the switchboard, documenting incoming deliveries, processing incoming and outgoing mail and providing clerical support as requested. In addition, the Receptionist prepares weekday deposits, prepares monthly statements for mailing, assists with various clerical duties and projects as assigned, and may assist with completing appropriate paperwork for new admissions during after-hours shifts if assigned as well as maintain the Receptionist schedule and serve as back up as needed. Experience: Two (2) years experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a heath care environment and any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment. Additional Requirements: May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Follow the facility guest relations program when greeting and assisting all visitors, ensuring all visitors sign the visitor log and obtain a visitor pass. 2. Answer and disseminate all incoming calls on the switchboard in a professional and courteous manner within three rings. 3. Utilize the paging system to announce callers as required. 4. If assigned, provide clerical support to admissions: a. Collate admission folder as required. b. Keypuch revised patient data as required. c. Ensure an adequate supply of pre-stuffed admission folders and distribute properly. 5. Assist with miscellaneous patient account folders on a daily basis. 6. Process all outgoing and incoming mail. 7. If assigned, provide assistance to patients and employees, such as making change, checking valuables, providing meal tickets, and providing postage as requested. 8. Complete a variety of clerical projects as assigned. 9. Distribute and accept applications for employment. 10. Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures. 11. Attend all mandatory facility inservices and staff development activities as scheduled. 12. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. 13. Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives. 14. Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information. 15. Maintain schedule for the receptionists. Responsible for getting coverage for all shifts and be back up if unable to get PRN coverage. 16. Inform the weekend receptionists regarding policy changes made during the week. . 17. Input authorization letters in patient files. 18. Reconcile monthly Petty Cash for Business Office Director. 19. Reconcile daily dietary cash. 20. Coordinate outside meetings with room assignments. 21. Data entry step-downs into HMS. 22. Stamp, date lab results and distribute.
