The VP leads and directs process improvement activities that improve patient outcomes. Presents results of improvement efforts and ongoing performance measures of clinical processes within the hospital to senior management and medical staff . Develops strategic plans for health care improvement within the facility in collaboration with the administrative and clinical leaders of the hospital. The VP of Quality is accountable for ensuring that all quality and process improvement projects meet the identified internal and external standards and is instrumental in promoting culture change by sharing best practices and effectively teaching, mentoring, and coaching other team members in PI process and change methodology. Develops relationships with members of the medical staff and provides education and guidance regarding quality outcomes. Leads initiatives related to division priorities and other facility-wide performance improvement activities through Physician and Nursing-based Councils, as well as numerous other multi-disciplinary teams. Is a strategic thinker with strong analytical and business skills required to manage multiple projects and clinical outcome programs. Leads process re-design, organization design, change management/communication activities, and conducts training/mentoring of others related to building the improvement skill set. Facilitates goal driven teams and engages individuals in activities that align with advancing the business plan. In advancing these goals, the VP uses specialized knowledge and skills related to goal development, attainment and communication for accelerated change and working out waste to improve quality patient outcomes. Manages physician quality and performance improvement programs and maintains all facility accreditation and certification programs. Coordinates effective process of organization-wide approach to designing, measuring, assessing and improving performance. The VP of Quality also oversees the department of Infection Prevention and directs the activities of surveillance of nosocomial infections, monitoring trends; initiating problem solving, analyzing outcomes, and--compiling statistics.   • Texas State RN license or compact license required.
  • Advanced specialty certification needs to be obtained within 90 days of hire date;
  • 5 years clinical experience required;
  • Experience in healthcare quality or process improvement preferred.
