Work Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift (7pm to 7am)

Our ICU is a 29 bed department that providescare to patients with issues ranging from Trauma, Cardiovascular,Renal/Dialysis, and other critically ill patient populations requiringintensive monitoring. Our unit is staffed with a team oriented group of caringRegistered Nurse professionals including a dedicated Nurse Educator and anexperienced, engaged Management team. Position Summary & Responsibilities: The Clinical Nurse Coordinator, under the generalsupervision of the unit s director or designee the CNC assumes responsibilityfor direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/herdesignated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team,this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality ofpatient care services provided in the unit or department. The CNC:Is a clinical Registered Nurse who can assume care forthe patient population on the assigned unit.Assumes responsibility for direction and coordinationof all functions during the designated shift.Functions as a resource person for staff member andassists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.Assumes responsibility for the overall quality ofnursing care provided when s/he is on dutyMakes decisions regarding activities with these areasbased on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing AdministrativeStandards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit,in collaboration with other members of the management team.Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team tocoordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-,family- and person-centered care.Operationalizes evidenced-based practices to enhancepatent safety and quality outcomes.Represents the organization positively within thecommunity, and participates in company-supported and other healthcarerelated community/patient events and in-services.Will assume leadership responsibility for themanagement of the unit in support of the manager/director, includingdirect supervision of a portion of the unit/department staff, payrollediting, performance reviews, coaching and developing staff, performancemanagement, recognition, and other duties as assigned. Magnet /PathwaysAccredited hospitals require BSN at time of hire. Current Texas RN license or RN compact license. Current BLS issued by the American HeartAssociation. Certification in specialty required within 1year. Completion of charge nurse course requiredwithin one year. Other leadership training and activity inprofessionalorganizations highly preferred Experience: Two (2) years of clinical practice inthe clinical specialty of his/her unit and leadership/ management experience ispreferred.
