of North Texas, MCD is a Level III Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke

Our ICU is a 29 bed department that provides care to patients with
issues ranging from Trauma, Cardiovascular, Renal/Dialysis, and
other critically ill patient populations requiring intensive
monitoring. Our unit is staffed with a team oriented group of
caring Registered Nurse professionals including a dedicated Nurse
Educator and an experienced, engaged Management team.--Our floor
has an excellent culture that encourages participation and
teamwork.-- We are looking for a RN with experience in an acute
care facility at the ICU level, however are open to those looking
to advance their career in this area.--The Intensive Care Unit
RN--manages the nursing care to patients admitted to the ICU in
accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of
the healthcare organization.--

The Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit - RN ICU is responsible
for decisions and actions within the domain of nursing practice.--
Important aspects of this responsibility are the promotion of a
safe and therapeutic environment for both the recipients and
providers of nursing care; acquisition of specialized knowledge
skills and additional formal education to provide specialized care;
demonstration and validation of competence in nursing practice;
clinical practice consistent with the policies, procedures and
standards of this facility; and supervision of other staff as
designated within the department.

Qualifications ------------------ Licensed RN by the State of Texas
or compact license ------------------ Associates Degree Nursing
required, BSN preferred (must be willing to enroll in a BSN program
within 6 months of employment and complete within 2 years)
------------------ 1 year of critical care experience preferred
------------------ BLS and ACLS required.-- Specialty certification
