Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00-07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Med Surg experience Description: Unit Information: Number of Beds: 60 Number of Staff: 50 Staffing Information: Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse per floor, RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows. Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse per floor, RNs, LVNs, PCTs. Patient Ratios: 5:1 on Med Surg 4th Floor 6:1 on Med Surg 5th Floor Equipment: Remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, dynamaps. EMR: Alterra (Allscripts). Typical Hiring Profile: Skill Set Most Recruited For: Candidates without the following skills will not be considered for the role. Preferred Skills: Cardiac recognition IV starts Time management Typical Procedures Performed: All abdominal procedures including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy, and diagnostic procedures. Paracentesis and thoracentesis. Heart catheterizations and run-offs. Gastric sleeves, total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements. Ortho trauma repairs (fractures). Best Personality Fit: Team-oriented, positive, and flexible. Floating Areas: Mandatory float as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, and PCU. Will not be given an assignment outside of skill level or scope. Dress Code: Currently wear black scrubs but will be moving to Medical City Blue. Weekends and On-call: Weekend shifts are required.
