ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Denton, Texas. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Provide care for 25-bed Surgical Trauma Stepdown unit on 5th floor • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (maximum 1:5 for stepdown patients) • Use Meditech EMR system • No on-call requirements • Floating required to stepdown service lines (Progressive Care Unit/Heart and Vascular Unit) • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH • Trauma/Orthopedic experience and Meditech experience preferred • Perform quarterly vital signs monitoring and patient assessments • Provide telemetry monitoring • Care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention including trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, and general surgery patients • Manage patients with neurological diagnoses, chest pain, CHF, sepsis, and cardiac conditions • Administer and monitor various IV drips including heparin, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, and cardiac medications • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, teamwork, adaptability, and strong communication abilities Facility: This healthcare facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center with 90% of inpatients coming from the emergency department.
