Enjoy a friendly Texas town with outdoor recreation and local dining while advancing your nursing career. /n/nTravel Nurse Job Details/n /n - Location: Decatur, TX 76234 (North Texas)/n - Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel RN/n - Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (4th & 5th Floors, Main Campus)/n - Patient Ratios: 5:1 on the 4th floor, 6:1 on the 5th floor/n - Contract Length: 13 weeks (Travel Contract)/n - Start Date: March 16, 2026/n - End Date: June 15, 2026/n - Shift: Night shift — 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Weekend Shifts: Required/n - Dress Code: Medical City Blue scrubs (transitioning from black)/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1350–$1420 per week/n /n/nRequired Qualifications — Registered Nurse (RN)/n /n - Active RN license (Texas or compact state) — must be able to work in TX/n - Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience/n - Telemetry experience required (telemetry RN preferred)/n - Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHS certifications/n - Strong time management, clinical assessment, and communication skills/n - Preferred: cardiac rhythm recognition, IV starts/n - Team-oriented, positive, flexible, and patient-focused attitude/n /n/nKey Responsibilities — Medical-Surgical Nursing / Telemetry/n /n - Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population/n - Monitor and interpret telemetry, perform IV starts, and manage post-surgical patients/n - Care for patients following abdominal surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), diagnostic procedures, orthopedic trauma repairs, and joint replacements/n - Utilize clinical equipment including remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps/n - Document patient care accurately in the Alterra (Allscripts) EMR system/n - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: RNs, LVNs, PCTs, charge nurses, and ancillary staff/n - Float as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, or PCU within scope of practice/n - Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements/n - Manage patient assignments with ratios of 5:1 on the 4th floor and 6:1 on the 5th floor, ensuring safe and effective care delivery/n /n/n Why Apply: This is a strong travel nursing opportunity for Med/Surg and telemetry RNs looking for night shift experience in Decatur, TX.
