Job Description Summary:Promotes the well-being of children in the Foster Care Program, participates in staff meetings and trainings and coordinates with staff from other agencies involved in providing foster care services. Manages a caseload of Families seeking to become Foster Homes. Performs the following duties directly.In This Opportunity You Will Get To:Manages recruitment activities and coordination with other foster care staff and agencies.Assists with application and inquiry processing to engage families quickly in training.Plans, arranges and oversees foster home trainings for new homes.Monitors and assesses homes for Minimum Standards for initial verification.Assists in the orientation, assessment and verification of foster parents.Attends case planning conferences at required intervals.Conducts foster home visits.Provides 24 hour, on-call support to foster parents. Provides crisis intervention, when required.Coordinates community resources for the benefit of children served by the Foster Care Program.Accomplishes placement of children in properly trained and licensed homes. Coordinates with intake and other appropriate staff on the placement of children.Completes documentation and forwards reports containing descriptive, analytical and evaluative content.Coordinates with the Agency's licensing staff to ensure regulatory compliance by care providers. Reviews and monitors current licensing standards with care providers.Coordinates with Agency program staff, and staff from external public and private agencies, on the delivery of services to children and families.Will be required to drive personal or agency vehicle while transporting children or conducting agency business. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency vehicles and/or transporting clients. Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.Advocates, promotes and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.Develops, promotes and practices teamwork in all activities.Other duties may be assigned.You'll Bring These Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks. In the absence of a more specific rule requirements, demonstrate competency, prudent judgment and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities. The minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years old. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Employees for this position must meet one of the following options:Option 1:A master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or other human services field.Nine credit hours in graduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction.One year of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities. The experience may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities.Option 2:A master's degree from an accredited college or university. Nine credit hours in graduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction. Two years of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities. The experience may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities.Option 3: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or other human services field. Nine credit hours in undergraduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction.Two years of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities. The experience may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities.Option 4: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Nine credit hours in undergraduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction. Three years of documented full-time work experience in a (A) Three years of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities. The experience may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities; ORDirect supervision from a child placement management staff. The direct supervision with the child placement management staff must consist of 10 documented, monthly, face-to-face, individual, case-related conferences over each annual period. The direct supervision must continue until the employee's previous experience and directly supervised experience totals three years.Licensed Master or bachelor's degree in social work preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
