Quality Assurance Technician I

DescriptionPosition Overview:Responsible for ensuring the quality of Company's products and customer service remain superior in the processing industry. The individual filling this position shall have a full understanding of internal policies and procedures regarding the Quality Management System. In addition, this person will continuously assess the effectiveness and suitability of the Quality Management System and recommend, implement, and monitor continuous improvement initiatives. Work performed with general supervision.Duties and Responsibilities:Update and maintain data in Quality Management Systems (QMS) i.e. Employee Stamp Records, Material Safety Data Sheets, Raw Material Analysis Results, maintain Chemical Certification for expiration of material, Customer Approvals and Customer Quality Performance.Provide or assist in training, as required.Assist in investigating and resolving technical and quality issues.Perform internal audits in accordance with the Quality Management System as needed.Create or assist in the development of internal process procedures and work instructions.Analyze non-conformities; determine root cause and corrective/preventive action.Create and maintain charts for Key Performance Indicators.Provide supplier scorecards.Respond to supplier questionnaires provided by customers.Interface with customers to resolve issues such as, but not limited to Certification Corrections, etc.Update the Customer Returned Parts Log and issue return material authorizations when there are customer returns.Maintain the corrective action module and resolve issues.Adhere to all company Quality and Safety standards, policies and procedures.Maintain a high-level of security and confidentiality of all files.Perform other incidental and related duties as assigned.Skills:Proficient of processing and/or Quality principles, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations.Familiar with inspection tools (i.e. Micrometers, Calipers).High level of attention to detail required.Excellent math & reasoning skills with the ability to read & interpret complex documents (i.e. blue prints as well as customer and process specifications).Effectively communicate by written or verbal skills with customers, vendors and others across various organizational functions to resolve issues.Fluently speak, read, and write English.Ability to communicate across various organizational functions to resolve issues.Solve problems & make decisions where there are clearly defined objectives & functional direction.Intermediate computer skills using MS Office products. Education / Licensing Requirements:High school Diploma or equivalent. Experience Requirements:Minimum of three years related Quality Assurance Technician experience, preferably in a manufacturing/processing company.Working Conditions:Work is performed in a typical office environment.Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, transporting supplies or equipment, sitting or standing for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer & phone, & occasionally lifting & carrying items which may weigh up to 25 lbs.This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)., Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information as defined under the ITAR/EAR.
