About 29 Acres: 29 Acres is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of adults with ASD. 29 Acres focuses on using ABA principles and programming to make meaningful and measured progress. Most of each clients program takes place in the community! We work on language & social skills while bowling or on a boat. What better way to work on money management then learning to grocery shop, go out to eat at your favorite restaurant or buy something for a hobby! * JOB PURPOSE: The Student Coordinator for Transition Academy works with a group of students to improve their independence. This is accomplished by setting weekly goals, teaching life skills, vocational skills, social skills, healthy habits, budgeting, and meal planning, providing cooking assistance and assisting with any other skills to help students become more independent. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Provide life skills training to assist students in planning activities, vocational training, daily life skills, budgeting, cooking, social and other programs Meet with students weekly to set program goals and work toward living a self-determined life based on programming goals and each student's personal goals Assist students with medication refills, scheduling personal appointments and scheduling transportation Provide job coaching and training as students volunteer, acquire internships, and become employed Collect data, observe and evaluate as directed towards goals Meet with TA Director for student planning and professional development Assist classroom instructor with classroom behaviors, accommodations, and learning Ensure safety and welfare (e.g. assist students taking medication on schedule, administering CPR and first aid if necessary) Serve as an advocate for students Engage in ongoing professional development and staff training Collaborate with other professionals while maintaining a "can do" attitude Perform other assignments as delegated by the Program Director and/or Director of Programs REQUIREMENTS AND SCOPE: Education Bachelor's Degree in psychology, education, special education, sociology, social work or a related field Experience At least 1 year working with individuals with ASD or intellectual disability Required Certifications BCaBA / RBT and UNTWISE (preferred) Company Training (must be completed in the first 30 days of employment) First Aid, CPR, CPI Additional Requirements Pass criminal background check and drug test Hold a valid Texas driver's license and possess an acceptable driving record Skills Learn to implement behavior analytic principles, techniques and interventions Master data collection for purposes of program evaluation Become skilled at implementing treatment goals and developing effective programs for adults with ASD Learn to implement life skills in natural settings and environments (e.g. home, classrooms, and/or in the community) Exhibit excellent communication skills (written and oral) Work independently or collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google Problem Solving / Decision Making Perform several related, routine or sequential tasks or processes Refer exceptions to a higher authority Work under direct supervision Accountability Scope: individual contributor Financial: no direct budget responsibilities WORKING CONDITIONS: Environments include indoor (e.g. office, house, classroom), and outdoor with resultant climate variations May include required strength/endurance (e.g. lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, etc.), exposure to injury (e.g. biting, hitting, kicking) and/or other hazards (e.g. bodily fluids) Must have the physical ability to respond appropriately to situations that require first aid or CPR Must be able to assist the adults in emergency situations' ' Work Location: One location Work Remotely No Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32,240.00 - $35,360.00 per year Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Application Question(s): Are you covid vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated?
