DescriptionMulti-Craft Maintenance Technician - Denton, TXGeorgia-Pacific has an opening for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic at our facility in Denton, TX and we are interested in learning more about you! Our ideal candidate is an initiative-taking, skilled hourly professional with a working knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting and a solid foundation in the skills needed to properly maintain manufacturing equipment. Come join our team!This position pays $28+ per hour, based on skills and experience. The shift will be 6:00PM - 6:00AM with alternating weekends off. Employees must be available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends.What You Will Do In Your RolePerforming periodic maintenance routines including lubricating machines and equipment for improved reliability and uptime.Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing equipment in compliance with all plant policies and proceduresWorking with machinery and mechanical equipment including motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, conveyor systems, and production line equipmentTroubleshoot and maintain electrical and PLC systemsReading diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications for installationsUsing hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring devices and testing instrumentsWorking with operations associates to identify and prioritize maintenance needsMaintaining accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventative maintenance findingsAdhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety programAssisting in the development and implementation of reliability centered maintenance strategiesApplying simple problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys to reduce and eliminate failuresWorking in a hot, humid, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environmentWilling to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as neededThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:High School Diploma or GED2 or more years of previous maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment OR a two (2) year mechanical maintenance degreeExperience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and PLC systemsExperience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics & pneumaticsExperience with reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and precision measurementsExperience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors, rollers, pulleys, and shaftsExperience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functionsWhat Will Put You AheadAssociates degree or two (2) years of study from a technical college in the fields of Industrial Maintenance or Industrial TechnologyExperience with fabricating, torch cutting, and arc weldingOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
