SCOPE OF FORKLIFT OPERATOR POSITION:
The forklift/utility yardman will expedite material movement within and outside the shop. The position is responsible for maintaining and organized material area. The forklift/utility yardman may be required to pick up, load and transport equipment and materials. The forklift/utility yardman* *understands safety and the rules of the road. Must be flexible, as the working hours may change depending on schedules.

  Assure the correct and complete job is being loaded for delivery. Verify with Bill of Lading
  
  
• 
  Maintain the yard for cleanliness and organization
  
  
• 
  Mark and store all material per job with like material. Use the PMG marking standards
  
  
• 
  Load and unload all material in a safe manor. Verify that the materials delivered are correct
  
  
• 
  Help maintain inventory with the purchasing manager. Report any miss uses of Inventory to Shop Manager
  
  
• 
  Cleans and Maintains Back Yard in an Organized Fashion
  
  
• 
  Occasionally cut material requests
  
  
• 
  Ability to make decisions based on the principles and customer expectations consistent with the PMG culture and operational practices.

  May be asked to perform additional duties as required.
  
  
• 
  This position also needs to have knowledge of all types of work that are performed by PMG. The Forklift/Utility Yard Person must be able to have the technical abilities to operate equipment and plan a safe staging area.   *FORKLIFT OPERATOR KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION**: *(Minimum Education and/or Experience required)
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Forklift and Telescopic Handler experience
    
    
  • 
    2 years' experience in yard layout and stocking
    
    
  • 
    Able to operate shop equipment and train personnel on safety, quality and productivity
    
    
  • 
    Good communication skills and knowledge of PMG product.
    
    
  • 
    Fluent in English and Spanish speaking skills optional but preferred.
    
    
  • 
    Basic math used in measuring
    
    
  • 
    Ability to make decisions based on the principles and customer expectations consistent with the PMG culture and operational practices.
    
    
  • 
    Must be skilled in accurately recording information on service tickets
    
    
  • 
    Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
    
    
  • 
    Familiar with use of Smartphone, Smartsheets (or similar), construction calculator
    
    
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
    
    • 
      
    • This person will be certified as a forklift operator and certified welder
      
      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
      
      • 
        
      • 
        Ability to stand for extended periods if necessary.
        
        
      • 
        Ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 70 pounds without restriction.
