DescriptionJOB OVERVIEW:The Technician 1 position requires 2 Senior
Certifications. As a Technician 1, you will support our
manufacturing operations and facilities infrastructure by providing
a full range of mechanical, electrical and repair tasks with focus
on project completion in a timely manner and attention to detail.
Project duties will vary; please read requirements and jobs tasks
below to understand range of experience needed.GENERAL
REQUIREMENTS:High school graduate or equivalent Strong Mechanical &
Electrical background & good work record Must have basic computer
skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS, Excel, etc.) Ability to interpret
technical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals Understand
manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment Must be
familiar with normal shop equipment such as drill press, band saw,
portable power tools, welder(s), etc. Ability to read and interpret
precision measuring devices Must be capable of handling multiple
tasks simultaneously Must have hands-on Certification (Sr.
Mechanical & Sr. Repairman or Welding Certification 3G/4G) Must be
able to demonstrate welding proficiency Up to 50% travel
possiblePRIMARY JOB TASKS:Works in safe manner and ensures safety
of all employees Perform all work in accordance with Southwire
policies and procedures Reading electrical and or mechanical
schematics, drawings and equipment manuals Develop material list
and order materials required Good communication skills with
Leadership, peers, and external suppliers Provide direction to
contractors & small crews if applicable Fabricate, install, repair,
or replace, building electrical or mechanical
componentsSAFETY:Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and
unsafe acts or conditions, immediately to the supervisor Must
follow prescribed safety procedures to prevent injury and maintain
safe equipment and conditions in entire plantPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL
DEMANDS:Ability to meet the physical requirements of working safely
in an industrial maintenance environment Follow all company
environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner
